Notes
Elizabeth Kempton, a draughtsman and designer, taught Art and Manners at the Gunnery School for fifty years (1902-1952). Miss Kempton encouraged Folinsbee to pursue art as a career, and the artist always acknowledged a great to her. This portrait was painted posthumously, probably from a photograph.
