Notes
While in Bourre, Folinsbee became close to a Monsieur Bonvois, who lived next door to the family's hotel, and would occasionally push the artist from one sketching spot to another. According to Folinsbee's daughter Beth, Bonvois was also a wine maker, and this painting may depict either the Bonvois cellar, or that of La Rolanderie, the hotel in Bourre.
