Notes
The critic for the New York Times apparently found this painting to diverge from Folinsbee's usual style. Reviewing the 1920 Ferargil show, the critic wrote: "several [of Folinsbee's paintings] are aside from the path habitually traveled by the artist, and thus...are tests of his strength. The most fortunate of these experimental subjects is sunlit haze." (New York Times, 7 March 1920, x10)
