Notes
The house depicted here belonged to Cornwell Rogers, who lived next door to Mrs. Ruth Baldwin's niece Ruth Chapin. The house was located on Route 1 between Wiscasset and Bath, and in 1931, Mrs. Baldwin rented it for the summer. Four years later, and for several years afterward, the Folinsbee family rented "Corny's" house during the summer months. The house afforded a panoramic view of the Montsweag Bay, and, conveniently, had a large studio attached to it (which may be the structure to the far left of the canvas).
