Notes

When Rabbit Run Bridge was exhibited at Phillips Mill in New Hope in 1932, critic Dorothy Grafly wrote in the Philadelphia Public Ledger: "Among the artists whose names have made the New Hope Art Colony, the strongest exhibitor by far is John Folinsbee...Adroit, handled with nice economy of composition and stroke, these [works] show the power of the artist." The editors of The New Hope, an influential local publication, called the painting "an excellent piece of handling."
